About Abc
ABC formed in Sheffield in 1980, and they were one of the most stylish bands of the decade. Led by Martin Fry in his gold lamé suit, they mixed pop, funk, and orchestration into a sound that was completely their own.
Their debut album 'The Lexicon of Love' (1982) is one of the great British pop albums of the 80s. Produced by Trevor Horn, it gave them three massive singles: 'Poison Arrow', 'The Look of Love', and 'All of My Heart'.
They never quite matched that first album, but ABC kept going through the 80s and 90s. Martin Fry was the only constant member.
