A Flock Of Seagulls

A Flock Of Seagulls formed in Liverpool in 1979. They had that distinctive early 80s synth-pop sound — big hair, bigger synth riffs, and a song that would become one of the defining tracks of the decade.

Their biggest hit was 'I Ran (So Far Away)' in 1982. It made the Top 10 in America and became an MTV staple. The music video, with the band's wild futuristic haircuts, was everywhere. In the UK they had a few other chart entries — 'Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You)' reached Number 10 in 1982, and 'Space Age Love Song' was another fan favourite.

They split up and reformed a few times over the years, but that one song — 'I Ran' — has kept them alive in pop culture.
